Konstantin Surkov

Konstantin started his career a long time ago as a database developer, grew to be a database architect, then started to be responsible for whole back-end solutions—data pipelines, REST APIS, and distributed storage systems, in one case (that was before cloud computing became a thing). Konstantin has worked for Microsoft for 11.5 years, both as an IC and as a team lead. He started building systems in Azure after it went public and has enjoyed doing it since then. In terms of general purpose languages, C# is still his favorite, Scala a close second, followed by Go and Python. Outside of work, Konstantin used to play tennis, but hasn’t lately and would like to get back to doing that. He also enjoys cycling, whitewater kayaking, snorkeling in tropical waters, and hiking the Pacific Northwest.
