Rethinking Commuter Benefits – Join us January 23rd in Alexandria, VA

The Rethinking GO Lunch and Learn Series explores alternative travel options in the DMV over lunch with industry leaders. Recent research shows a direct connection between an employee’s commute and their quality of life. Leaving the car behind and trying new transportation options has been shown to help reduce road congestion, improve the environment, lower commuter stress levels, and improve physical health. More, it adds a competitive edge to companies, allowing them to recruit and retain top industry talent. The January 23, 2019 Rethinking GO Lunch and Learn session dives into the value of commuter benefits for employers and employees and walks attendees through the development of their own commuter benefits program. Space is limited, with priorities given to Alexandria employers.

In this session or workshop, participants will be able to understand:

  • The impact of the commute for both employers and employees
  • General guidelines for developing a commuter program
  • Examples of successful commuter programs of other employers and will gain ideas for program design and measures of success
  • The importance of collaboration and partnerships with service providers from both the public and private sector.

Future lunch and learns dive deeper into individual mode types with industry leaders and provides an opportunity for attendees to get specific answers. Upcoming lunch and learns include:

  • Public transit
  • Teleworking
  • Biking
  • Water mobility
  • Wellness programs
